Artist: Billy Childish & Sexton Ming
Title: "Here Come The Fleece Geese" Label: Damaged Goods Cat. No.: DAMGOODCD208/DAMGOODLP208 Release Date: 21 October 2002 Format: CD / LP The follow up to their 1999 album 'The Cheeky Cheese' (Damgood 159 LP / CD)is more of the same crazy eclectic mix of humor and music and general sodding about. As I'm sure you know Mister Childish (Buff Medways / Headcoats / Milkshakes) and Mister Ming (Diamond Gussets / Tasty Ones / TV Personalities) have been writing poetry, playing music and painting pictures together since 1979 when they formed Phyroid Press. Their work together, documented by 5 LP's and 25 small press publications, is inspired by the early dadaists, Edward Lear, Captain Beefheart and the literature of the absurd. The Guardian described their material as "An authentic output of creative play" Billy and Sexton describe it as "A smoking chimney stack that falls over and crushes your wife and kids" Curiously both are true. And it's got a great picture of a Goose on the cover too, what more could you want?
