Holly Golightly released her first album, 'The Good Things', over six years ago on Damaged Goods. The LP might have been on the slightly smaller 10" format but this was not a record that would get lost. 'The Good Things' was, and still is, a great listen - a breath of fresh air from the steady sounds of Thee Headcoatees, the band from which Holly graduated - it was sure to remain at the front of anybody's record collection. The album was soon followed by Holly's first 7" single; the sublime 'Virtually Happy' backed by 'The Ride No.1'

Holly went go on to release a number of great singles not only in England but also with four different American labels as well as with German and Japanese record companies. All of these singles appeared on 7" vinyl only and many of them were pressed in quite limited quantities - it would be an avid collector who could enjoy owning the full complement. Therefore, as a retrospective singles compilation, Singles Round-Up will be a blessing to fans of Holly Golighty, especially those who prefer to own their music on the CD format.

Although Holly is very successful in the USA, the mainstream UK press has largely overlooked her and we hope that Singles Round-Up will go some way to reversing this situation. As well as being a desirable album for those already aware of Holly's music, Singles Round-Up will also serve as an excellent introduction to Holly's alluring songs for the music press and the record buying public alike.

The double LP and CD contains all of Holly's eleven single releases complete with their respective b-sides. Holly Golightly wide ranging sound is well represented on this 24 track album which includes the bluesy 'No Big Thing' with its bar-room piano and harmonica backing, the dirty guitar-driven 'Til I Get', the shuffling brushed drums and double bass of 'Come The Day', the haunting vocal and bottleneck guitar of 'Stain' and finishes up with a brilliant up-tempo cover of Pavement's 'Box Elder'.

Holly Golightly is currently touring with her band in America (where she recently played with The White Stripes in San Francisco) but will be back later in the summer when she plans to play some low-key UK dates.
